Helston, Cornwall, The Guildhall.

The Guildhall is currently undergoing a major restoration, and the clock bell has been found to be shattered into pieces as a result of expanding rusting ironwork in its crown. A new bell is to be cast to replace it. With a diameter of 28.25", and weighing over 4 cwts., the new bell will be hung dead for the clock hammer to strike it.

It is hoped to hang the bell in time for the famous Floral Dance on 9th May.

  • The new bell has been moulded.

  • The new bell has been cast and fettled and awaits tuning.
