Church of St Thomas
10 bells 11-2-6 in G
The peal of ten bells at St Thomas Oxford was formed
gradually between 1992, when the old third was recast, and 1995
when the remaining five bells were cast to complete the ring.
The proximity of the church to the railway station
made it impossible to take a recording without any train noise in
the background.
The microphone was placed on a roof on the far
side of the tower, which could only be accessed by a ladder. The
band rang three leads of Spliced Surprise Royal consisting of Littleport
Little, Yorkshire and Littleport Little.
The band consisted of:
1 Helen M Diserens
2 Jennie Paul
3 Harry Winter
4 Michael A Williams
5 John Lindsay
6 Keith Anderson
7 Clive Holloway
8 James Clatworthy
9 Stephen J Ivin
10 Andrew W R Wilby (C)
