Fire Ring, Shropshire

8 bells 0-2-8 in C

The fire ring are a privately owned ring which were installed in 1998, in a stone shed in Hopton Heath, Shropshire. The bells are hung in a cast iron frame directly above the ringers. A couple of experts on mini rings were brought in to strengthen the band here as several people had not rung on a mini ring before. Once people had got the hang of the bells the only problem we encountered was that the lambs had to be fed at the far end of the field to stop them bleating! After trying triples and major it was decided to ring half a course of Yorkshire.
