Church of St James
6 bells 10-3-16 in G#
In 1951 the old five bells were recast and a new
treble was added to create the ring of six.
Castle Acre is a very picturesque village and is
popular with tourists. This meant we had to have guards around the
microphone asking people to keep quiet as they walked past.
The balcony ringing chamber caused some distraction
for the ringers as it allowed tourists to see what was happening
and gave the ringers an audience.
The band rang a 60 of Grandsire doubles.
The band consisted of:
1 Helen Mansfield
2 Barbara A Foster
3 Angela M Athawes
4 Andrew D Higson
5 Keith J Walpole (C)
6 Andrew W R Wilby
