8 bells 21-2-12 in Eb
The peal of eight was cast in 1896 and was one
of the foundry’s first serious attempts at harmonic tuning.
These bells are very good even though some of them didn’t
quite achieve harmonic perfection.
Several suggestions were made as to what could
be rung on these bells, eventually it was decided to ring Rutland,
Superlative, Rutland to get back rounds and queens. The recording
took place on Wednesday 6th August 2003, and as the photo shows
it was a very warm day and the pub just down the road was tempting
for those ringing and those recording. In the end, after two hours
of recording we managed to make it to the pub for some well deserved
refreshment.
The band consisted of:
1 Andrew W R Wilby (C)
2 Barbara A Foster
3 S Clarke Walters
4 John F I Turney
5 John Lindsay
6 James Clatworthy
7 Roy LeMarechal
8 Simon J Poole
