Annual Service Contract

Bell Installations, whether ringing peals, chimes or carillons, are expensive and valuable musical instruments which require regular inspection and maintenance to ensure everything runs as smoothly as possible. At towers where there are no skilled maintenance personnel or where it is impractical for maintenance work to be carried out locally, we offer the professional services of members of our bell hanging team who will carry out annual visits to service and maintain the installation.

During a service visit our on site staff will undertake the following:

• a complete and thorough inspection of the whole installation
• tightening of any loose bolts
• lubrication, if necessary, of clapper joints using the correct lubricant
• adjustment if necessary, of clappers to eliminate odd struckness
• checking of pulleys for wear and free rotation
• adjustment of ropes, if necessary, to minimise wear at the garter hole

In addition to this we welcome correspondence with Steeple Keepers should any problems arise between servicings.
To keep costs to a minimum, visits are arranged by our staff when they are going to be in the area. A Record Card is provided which should be kept in the tower, this is completed by our on site staff during their visit. A written report will be submitted following the servicing, if any additional work is required this will be detailed and an estimate of the cost provided.
The current cost of servicings in mainland Britain is as follows:

3 bells = £80.00 +VAT 4 bells = £85.00 +VAT 5 bells = £90.00 +VAT 6 bells = £95.00 +VAT 8 bells = £105.00 +VAT 10 bells = £115.00 +VAT 12 bells = £125.00 +VAT 14 bells = £135.00 +VAT 16 bells = £150.00 +VAT
